Notion Ink teams up with Texas Instruments for Android ICS Adam II

Right on cue, Notion Ink has announced on its blog its partnership with Texas Instruments (TI) for its next generation tablet, Adam II. Still early days for the actual tablet launch, the Adam II will run on TI’s OMAP 44xx processor and other TI components like Wi-Link 7.0 and Phoenix Audio Power Amplifiers. Notion Ink is claiming the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet has been designed for power performance and multi-tasking experience (does not mean much till we see the actual device). Rest of the specs are sketchy at best but what would really make the tablet interesting is what Notion Ink is calling the world’s first “Modular Based Software Architecture,” which will allow general users (no programming knowledge necessary) to tweak every hardware setting along with Blender and Application Authoring tools that will allow them to create apps and games by simple drag-and-drop actions.

Hopefully, Notion Ink’s second attempt will prove to be more successful than their first outing with the Adam. We will be rooting for these guys as they are probably the only players out there who are looking at giving consumers more than just a device for content consumption. Bring it on fellas!
