It has only been two days since we informed you about Notion Ink’s plans to finally introduce the Adam II, the successor of the Adam tablet launched way back in 2011, and now we have more information regarding the tablet’s specifications as they were revealed at the National Technology Awards in India. According to the release, the tablet will be introduced with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and be competitively priced for Rs 12,000.

In terms of specifications, the Adam II will have a 10.1-inch IPS display offering 1280×800 pixels resolution. The interesting part is that it will also feature a secondary screen which will be a small monochrome screen for displaying notifications on the tablet’s spine. It will run on a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and will come with 1GB RAM. There will be two 2-megapixel cameras each on the front as well as the back sides. Wireless connectivity options will include support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. There will also be an HDMI and a microUSB port. The tablet will house a 6000mAh battery which is claimed by the company to run for as long as 10 hours.

Though the price of the Adam II is mentioned as Rs 12,000 in the Indian market, but there is no confirmation on its rumored possible launch in June.

For those don’t remember, Notion Ink rose to fame with the original Adam tablet that also had the ‘Eden’ UI running on top of Android Gingerbread. That device flattered to deceive and did not perform as advertised and costed much more than what the company is aiming for with the Adam II, hence it remains to be seen if the tablet can make it.
